I’m Cori DiSimone, Sam Curby’s Web Master and Video Editor (he’s promised me not to hold his phone vertically anymore while shooting video. lol). By the way, I’m the one on the left of the picture — in my first limo ride! I had a heard about the travel club previously from Ed Hansen and had thought seriously about it, because travel is a major priority in my life, but I’ve been unable to afford to do much of it in the last ten years. When Ed introduced me to Sam and I realized that he was just about my age, laid back and fun, traveling a ton, and making NICE money with the business, I was even more intrigued. When we established a work relationship, I finally joined. After a year, I’ve only dipped my toes in the business side of The Business, but I finally used my club membership and took my first DreamTrip a couple weeks ago.
Going through the new DreamTrips app is fun and when I found a weekend trip to Las Vegas for about 1/3 the price, it was easy to find someone to take with me. My friend, Denise (on the right), hair dresser, mother of two, and part-time student could manage THAT price! In fact, I’ve never spent so little in Vegas in all the times I’ve been, even when I’ve stayed in junky places, which this certainly was not.
Before I tell you everything included, I have to give a shout out to the club’s customer service. When I booked the trip, something between a glitch in the app and my reluctance to read the fine print ;)- , caused me to be charged more than I originally thought I’d be. I called Customer Service and they credited my account!
Another thing that made me feel taken care of by the company, was that, like most DreamTrips, ours had a hostess, Tenia. She started a Facebook event page where we could see and chat with other members going (if they and we wanted). It was a place to ask questions, receive information, and it start to build momentum for the trip for me. It kinda made us feel like we were going on an adventure with a bunch of people we didn’t yet know. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t done anything like that since summer camps when I was a kid. Usually we go on a vacation with another person and hope to G– we have enough to talk to them about to last the whole trip. lol These trips are designed to introduce you to the others, so you can choose to hang out or not. The tours and events – or any interaction with others – are in no way compulsory.
Okay — so what was included, right?
- 3 nights at Linq (centrally located on the Strip)
- 3 Flamingo buffet breakfasts (7am-2pm)
- a Planet Hollywood group dinner
- a night helicopter ride over the strip
All this cost about $60 more than the helicopter ride alone would have!!!!! I mean, seriously, that was unheard of! There were no surprise fees anywhere.
I kinda feel dumb for not taking a trip earlier. 🙁 (In my head, I can see Sam, eyebrows raised, nodding in agreement, like “I told you so.”) I applied my starting membership fee ($100) to the trip. In 2016, I’ll have $300 worth of points to apply, so I’m not letting that go to waste!
What sets this travel club membership apart for me?
- curated trips
Let Sam know if you want to know how you can join the club.
