When I first saw my company I had just gotten back from a deployment in Guam, and I was at my parents’ house visiting for Christmas. On that day (December 29th, 2008) I had no idea how tremendously my life would shift. You see, about 5 months before I saw my company, I was deployed to Guam. I undoubtedly used to love my job and everything, but on July 21st, 2008, it all changed. A B52 with six crew members on board was lost to the ocean; there were no survivors. I remember that day like it was yesterday; everything was so surreal. My crew was supposed to fly that same plane later that day. All I can say is that God works in mysterious ways.
So I guess unconsciously I was looking for something that would change my life and five months later my good friend and fraternity brother, Greg Boyko showed up at my parents’ house. This was a strange occurrence since he lived 45 minutes south of Seattle and I lived 45 minutes north of Seattle. I knew it was big because he drove all the way to show me. Before he was even done with the presentation I knew I was in. I said to myself, “If they pull off everything they say they are going to in the travel industry then this company will be huge!”
For my first four months, I didn’t really do anything. I just had fun and used the product and traveled. After about four months, I had 70 customers on my team, of which I knew one, our other fraternity brother, Takuya Davis. To me that was a huge hint that this idea was taking off in a huge way. At that point I decided to go to a training to see what all the hype was about. When I went to the training, I realized that this company was much more than just an innovative travel solution. I realized that it was all about personal growth train and leadership development training. (Many of these concepts I took back to the Air Force and it actually made me a better leader). The thing that really got me to believe in what they were trying to do was the fact that when we had a 70s party, the CEO (in white hard hat in pic on the left) came dressed as a character from Saturday Night Fever. When I saw this, I realized that the fun culture of this company was actually a TOP-DOWN phenomena, dominant throughout. I wanted to be a part of that in a big way. So while I was at Training, I introduced my first two people to the concept and it just took off from that point. The first month after Training, I had my monthly fees waived and I made all my money back. (Contact me to find out how that works.)
From that point, I had moderate success until I shared this amazing concept with Melanie Levitz. (At the time she saw this concept we were acquaintances, who just saw each other out. Now we are like brother and sister.) When she saw the concept, she literally took the bull by the horns and ran with it, quickly passing me up and few other people that mentored her along the way. This is a great example of how it’s not always the person at the top making ALL the money. Instead, it’s the PERSON THAT WORKS THE HARDEST that makes the most. I will say openly that Melanie plain outworks me. I started my journey seven years ago, two years before Melanie, yet she is now 3 ranks ahead of me in the compensation plan. Anyone can pass anyone up, at any point. It’s just a matter of time if you work harder than them.
In February of 2013, my income from my company surpassed what I was making in the military, so I decide to get out of full-time service and do part-time National Guard (one weekend per month). That same month I found out that my dad had Stage Four lung cancer. The freedom that my company afforded me was amazing. I traveled from Tucson to San Antonio every 4- 6 weeks to spend time with my parents. I basically lived half of that year in San Antonio. If I had had a job at this point in my life, there is no way I would have been able to spend that time with my dad. I was actually able to spend the last week of his life with him and be able to comfort my mom through that rough time. To me, the true definition of Time and Money Freedom is being able to go where you want, when you want, for as long as you want, and not have to worry about money or getting permission.
This company gave me the Time and Money Freedom to spend the time I needed to with my parents and that can’t be bought or sold. Every day I thank God for this company and the blessings of that time with my father.
My life looks drastically different now. I used to have to be at work Mondays through Fridays and I lived for the weekends. Now everyday is a weekend. In the last 30 months I have been on 75 trips all over the world and have taken my mother on two PAID Vacations. I have been living freely for 30 months and have been helping people retire from their jobs 3, 6, 8, 10, even 15 years early. It’s just different; living life first instead of working my younger years away is something I never thought was possible before. I’m living proof that it is.
