In his best-selling book, The Next Millionaires, Paul Zane Pilzer explains in detail “why the 21st century will be known as the Age of the Entrepreneur, and how you can stake your claim to being one of these next 10 million millionaires—especially if you are in direct selling, technology, home-based business, product distribution….” Well, my company is a direct-selling, home-based, network-marketing company.
We use the viral nature of Word-of-Mouth advertising to get our travel product out to the masses. We pay people for sharing their membership and vacation experiences with their friends and family. We definitely are a leader in technology with our mobile application, and the fact that our whole product is offered online. Everything to do with our business can be done on a laptop, tablet, or cell phone.
In regard to product distribution, it’s all online as well, so our members don’t have basements full of products they have to purchase and then try to offload. Through the mobile app, members book wholesale trips. On the website, those can be booked, as well as regular trips, so everything is contained online. Not only that, but our company owns their own travel agency; we aren’t a third-party vendor. (This means that you get great customer service by calling the customer service line for your trip.)
Therefore, according to Paul Zane Pilzer’s parameters, we hold the keys to creating the next millionaires, which we have already. Need more convincing? Here are the top 3 reasons why someone looking to start a business, should choose us.
1) SPEED OF GROWTH
I have been with my company for almost 7 years now and I have been able to witness the RAPID speed of growth we have been going through. First off, we are in our 50th straight month of record-setting growth. Yes, 50 straight months! That means for the last 4 years and 2 months, EVERY single month has been bigger than the previous month before it (i.e. June was bigger than May, July was bigger than June, etc.). These are EXPLOSIVE numbers, and we aren’t showing any signs of stopping, especially as we add more markets around the world in the coming years.
Also, this year we were #915 in the 2015 INC 5000. If you’re not sure what the Inc. 5000 is, it’s a ranking of the FASTEST growing companies private companies in America, with both network marketing and conventional business models. This ranking is actually an example of our astounding growth, because last year we were#2,333. This means that in a year (1 year!) we jumped 1,418 spots!!!!!
Also, we are in the Direct Selling News (DSN) Top 100. This is a listing of the top 100 Direct Selling companies in the WORLD, and we are #47, and we are the ONLY travel company in the whole listing of the Top 100. The first year (2009) that we were listed, we were #93. So in 7 years we were able to jump 46 spots on this ranking among our peers in the Direct Selling industry. This year, we were #47 and the lone travel company in the whole listing.
Not only that, but our product offering has drastically grown. When I first started almost 7 years ago, we offered about 150 of our wholesale trips that year. Now in 2015, we will have a few thousand trips. Also when I started, there weren’t any niche trips. Now we have scuba diving trips, culinary trips, spa trips, golf trips, hunting trips, and fishing trips. As our membership base grows we are able to offer more and more of these niche trips for different tastes.
2) TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION
Our technology is second to none. Our revenue for 2014 was over $350 million. From that, the executives decided to reinvest $80 million into making our product even better and into making technological innovations. Eighty million is a huge number. Almost a quarter of revenue is being used to increase technology, which is something that benefits all members. Due to the fact that our service really has no physical product –our product is a membership– there is no real ceiling to our growth, or the amount members can sell. Product-based companies have a ceiling to their ability to innovate, because they can only upgrade, enhance, or change a physical product so much. On the other hand, we are based on technology, where whatever can be dreamed up by a human can be brought to fruition. Look at some of the biggest and fastest growing companies out there today: Google, Facebook, and Uber. These companies don’t have a physical product; they are based on technology and they are constantly evolving to meet their customers’ needs. Technology makes this all possible and ours is amazing. Our app will revolutionize two separate industries simultaneously.
3) BRAND LOYAL VS. PRICE LOYAL
With physical products, many people are brand-loyal. For instance, I like Nike. When I first learned about Under Armor, I had to see if it was a better product by trying it out. Then I had to change my buying habits from always getting Nike gear to switching to Under Armor. We are creatures of habit and it is definitely hard to break those habits. With a lot of the product-based companies, you have to change people’s buying habits and get them to use the other product instead of the product they have already been using for years, even decades (I’ve been using Tide for 20+ years now). So the person from that company has to go in and try to change these deeply held habits, and many times it’s very difficult to do that.
In contrast, people aren’t brand loyal to travel companies (unless they have status on airlines or hotels). People go to Travelocity, Expedia, Cheap Tickets, Priceline, and many others, looking for the best fares. They will just book on whatever is cheaper that day. What if you could offer the best price (especially with a price pledge) all the time?? Why wouldn’t people book with you all the time?? They would and that’s what we have.
