I recently had the privilege of being a part of a bunch of my friends’ special days, attending three weddings in two states and two countries in the span of one month.
The first was Airam and Michael’s DreamTrip Destination Wedding in Puerto Vallarta. It was a beautiful wedding on the beach. It was great to see some of my WV team members there. Since we did the DreamTrip option (of course) we stayed in the resort, enjoyed the all-inclusive food and beverage accommodations, and the excursion to Yelapa, the fishing village in Mexico only accessible by boat. Shequita’s eight-year-old daughter, was beyond excited about swimming with dolphins.
My wedding tour continued in Colorado Springs for Mike and Kristen’s wedding, which took place in the United States Air Force Academy chapel. I hadn’t seen Mike in a couple years, since we flew B52s together, but we have one of those friendships that when we get together it’s always as if no time has passed between us. It was great to be with him, meet his new wife, and be the Best Man. The chapel is amazing and the Sabre Guard was performed. While in Colorado Springs, I visited the Garden of the Gods National Park and the Glen Eyrie Castle.
Then it was off to Takuya and Anna’s wedding in Phoenix. The couple are avid golfers, so it took place at the Gainey Ranch Golf Club, and after their first kiss they teed off as a testament of solidarity to one another, which I thought was really cool. It was nice to see old friends here too. Shequita and I stayed at Rick Newman’s house and many of my University of Washington Delta Tau Delta Fraternity Brothers attended the wedding, since Takuya was also a member of that Frat.
